EDIT: Thanks to the answers I was able to create this tutorial http://dylanvalade.tumblr.com/post/74649521957/how-to-find-synced-typekit-fonts-on-your-computer

Where does Creative Cloud store the desktop version of Typekit webfonts synced to a Mac filesystem? The graphic shows which fonts are installed by CC but I want to know where Adobe is putting them. The sycned fonts are available to all applications (including non-Adobe) but they're not in the system Fonts folder and I can't find them in the Adobe folders or by searching for them.

Update: Found the /Users/USERNAME/Creative Cloud Files/.sync_plugin_data/livetype/ directory with the XML files defining synced fonts with @16wells answer but could not find the .otf files.

Ran find / -iname 'livetype' and found the following directories but failed to locate font files.

  • /Users/dylan/Creative Cloud Files/.sync_plugin_data/livetype
  • /Users/dylan/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/plugins/livetype
  • /Applications/Utilities/Adobe Creative Cloud/CoreSync/plugins/LiveType
  • /Applications/Utilities/Adobe Creative Cloud/CoreSync/plugins/LiveType/livetype.framework/livetype
  • /Applications/Utilities/Adobe Creative Cloud/CoreSync/plugins/LiveType/livetype.framework/Versions/A/livetype

I guess they will allow embedding but not editing while embedded (as per the usual optional permission in the opentype font standard): adobe.com/products/type/font-licensing/… – user3238065 Jan 26 '14 at 17:51 They appear to be the same – Dylan Valade Jan 27 '14 at 4:20 |

Download Font Adobe Creative Cloud

on OSX they are hidden by having a filename like '.NNNN.otf' you can find them in different places:

Local storage:

(beware the .r folder is also hidden, I could not get there via a 'cd' command pasting the entire path but first getting inside livetype folder.. sorry I'm not that fluent in terminal..)

Good news is that the same hidden fonts are included in InDesign Packages' fonts folder (if you ask for including fonts).

Just rename removing the first '.' char if you want to see the file in your finder windows (doing this may disrupt font dependancies in system or config files - of course).

While this is an obvious licensing consequence and we cannot complain with Adobe, it means you can actually store a package without the assurance of a long-term archival as TK fonts will depend on your account status, AND of course you cannot transfer TK fonts to other users anymore. – thelazydesigner Apr 19 '14 at 15:35 Disappointing but good to know. I've been pleased with Creative Cloud and Typekit but they're aren't coupled smoothly yet. If Adobe doesn't give up on Typekit (a la Fireworks) then cloud fonts could easily auto sync when opening files in any app in the suite. – Dylan Valade Apr 20 '14 at 16:39 Note that when you are trying to locate a specific font you can select it in finder, press cmd + i and under general it will list the Full Name

of the font. – kontur Jan 7 '16 at 14:43 To see hidden files/folders like '.file'/'.folder' in OS X you can also browse local storage using a FTP app like Transmit. On the View-menu in Transmit you can choose to show hidden files. You don't need to use terminal. – eye-wonder Jan 30 at 0:58 |

i think i got it for win8. If you're using win8 and AbobeCC, you can get the files like this.

Open ADOBECC 's font list file with a text editor:

find your font by searching for your font name. When you find it, the font block will look like this:

look at the FileLength property and memorize it. And then look at these files located at:

when a file's size is match with the one you're searching for, rename that file and add .ttf extension name. When you double click that file, you will see that windows font manager will display that font's name and the other things.

FOR OSX, first you can search for the file AdobeFnt_OSFonts.lst and then find your font size as above, memorize the size and search again for livetype folder and then find your file by size.. Hope it helps..

Cheers!!!

Adobe Creative Cloud Fonts

I found them by searching for all hidden font files in / and piping that through grep for matches containing the word 'Adobe'

It's obscured, but this article has the info. I tried to track down the woff and svg files too and essentially couldn't.

Here's the relevant part:

The fonts won't show up in your Font Book app and likely won't make an appearance in other font management apps, even though they'll show up as fonts available for editing in any other apps. If you really want to dig, you'll find the XML files listing the Typekit fonts synced to your computer in a hidden livetype folder in your Creative Cloud sync folder, and will also find the actual font data files hidden in another livetype folder in your Adobe Application Support folder — which is where the Creative Cloud app is locally serving your font data for your applications to use.

Essentially, Adobe is still sending you the real OTF fonts that you're syncing from Typekit, but hiding them on your computer and making them accessible to your apps through the Creative Cloud app. It's perfectly understandable why they'd obscure it to a degree since you're 'renting' the fonts, and since it works seamlessly in apps, there's nothing to really complain about. It's just not quite as obstructed as you might have imagined it'd be — and it's actually bringing you the real fonts, not 'hacking' web fonts to appear in your web apps and streaming them from the cloud live when you're using them, as I thought it might be when I at first only found the XML files in the Creative Cloud sync folder.
